Community Travel Training - working to make individuals more independent
If you want to be more independent, the Community Travel Training Program may be able to help. We work to build the skills you’ll need to travel throughout the community in a safe and efficient manner. Travel through our community can be by walking, bicycling, riding the bus (TARTA), paratransit service (TARPS), or by car. We’ll provide the training according to your needs and abilities
- Pedestrian safety;
- Identification of street signs and landmarks;
- Knowledge of bus routes and schedules;
- Money handling skills; and
- Maintaining open communication with significant persons in the community (such as bus drivers and police officers).
