Technology for Individuals: Residential Provider Partnership Application

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our agency has worked to transform operations to reduce person-to-person contact; technology plays a key role in the success of this work.  COVID-19 has pushed all of us to do more with technology. We are now conducting many meetings and Special Olympics events virtually, using Zoom. Our Service and Support Specialists are using such methods to carry out their monitoring and oversight responsibilities. We have heard from many providers that they are struggling to adapt to these changes due to a lack of technology in the homes where they provide services.

The Board will purchase a tablet, two years of internet service, and a protective case on behalf of the Provider, for use by the individuals who reside in the residence. Providers can apply for each home that meets the criteria. This one-time assistance is for providers to receive a tablet for homes where they provide residential services to individuals who are also served by the Lucas County Board of DD.
