6.    Susan Peth recognized as the Staff Person of the Month

Susan Peth is a Service and Support Specialist whose efforts every day reflect the Mission of the Board – improving life so individuals with developmental disabilities reach their full potential. She is known for her efforts to help individuals receive I/O waivers in order to ensure their health and safety. She has an extremely strong commitment to inclusion.

Susan is also a coach for Special Olympics. In that role she is a strong advocate for her athletes. For example, at one time staff at the Ohio State University requested athletes sleep on mattresses on the floor. She reminded that staff that they would neve ask Michael Phelps to sleep on the floor the night before his big event and they should not be asking her athletes either.

Susan Peth is an exemplary example of the employees of the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities and we are pleased to recognize her as the Staff Person of the Month for December 2019.

PAR (Professionals, Advocates, Resources) is in the process of developing its first strategic plan. The  intention is to identify a viable future for PAR that does not duplicate what others already do.

Members of the Ohio DD community are asked to complete a survey to share your ideas about how PAR can continue to be a valuable part of the DD system in the future. The survey consists of multiple choice to make it very easy for you to complete the survey. We hope you will take the time to help us by completing the survey.
